Reflective Journal week 15

 1. What did you actually learned from the unit.

There wasn't a lot of stuff to do this week. I enjoyed, as I always do, reading my classmates responses on the discussions. They are all very smart and full of great ideas!

2. Discuss your feelings/experiences from the team activities? Did it change your opinion on the subject? If so, how? If not, why?

Reading what they wrote didn't change my opinions but some of the ideas they gave are great and is something I would add to my opinion.

3. How you will utilize the information learned in your nursing practice.

As I said above, they have great ideas and I would implement them if/when I am ever in a position that was described.

4. You personal feelings about the material covered.

It was good.

Week Three ( Late Submission)

1.  What did you actually learned from the unit. To be honest, what I actually learned is to never get behind on my schoolwork again and turn things in on time!! I struggled this last week and I am not usually one to not turn in my assignments on time, I don't like it.  2. Discuss your feelings/experiences from the team activities? Did it change your opinion on the subject? If so, how? If not, why? The team activity was a learning expereince, we did ours incorrectly on the first submission but got it all squared away the second time.  3. How you will utilize the information learned in your  nursing practice. More interview questions to learn from.  4. You personal feelings about the material covered. Refer to number one, I struggled this particular week so I didn't really learn a whole lot unfortunately, other than I hate being late, turning in late assignments and don't ever want to put myself in this position again.

Firing-Discipline Interview

Have you ever had to fire an employee? (Kate) Yes, I have, multiple times.   What is the warning process you go through before terminating an employee? (Kate) Verbal waring, a performance review, a written warning and then a termination. What are some examples of situations that have warranted disciplining an employee? (Kate) Consistently being late for work, leaving the jobsite before they were supposed to. Stealing supplies/equipment. What are some examples of reasons why you most commonly fire people? (Megan)  Pretty much the same as I just said, haha. And also lack of performance is a big one. How many chances do you give your employees to fix behaviors before terminating them? (Megan)  Well because this is a privately owned business, I can be a little more lenient which is nice because it sucks to fire people. I don’t have a set number of chances; it is usually a case by case type of a situat...

Reflective Journal Week 2

. 1.  What did you actually learned from the unit. I think it is important to remember to think critically, be open minded and self aware. Nursing is a journey of continuous learning, there is ALWAYS something to learn no matter how long you have been a nurse.  2. Discuss your feelings/experiences from the team activities? Did it change your opinion on the subject? If so, how? If not, why? I think online team activities are hard to accomplish, especially now that the majority of us are working, our schedules are different..etc and so on. My team and I seemed to agree on all of the material that we presented so no, my opinion did not change.  3. How you will utilize the information learned in your nursing practice. As I said in question one, there is always something to learn, the information and science based evidence will continue to change and advance as time passes whether we want it to or not. Being open to these changes and new information is so important...
